MY HERO<\/p>\n

Your strength was like a mountain
\nBoth physical and spiritual the same
\nYour mind as brilliant as the sunrise
\nNew challenges welcomed as each day came<\/p>\n

Your spirit was unshakeable
\nYet gentle as a breeze
\nYou could tackle any problem
\nAnd handle it with ease<\/p>\n

You stood strong upon your principles
\nYour mind once set was like a trap
\nFor those who dared to challenge you
\nYour words stung like they\u2019d been slapped<\/p>\n

You didn\u2019t dress in fancy clothes
\nOr parade in feathers & fanfare
\nYou didn\u2019t wait for photo ops
\nAll that attention you didn\u2019t care<\/p>\n

You did your job you didn\u2019t ask
\nTo be told there was no need
\nYou simply stood upon the Law
\nAnd others followed by your lead<\/p>\n

Your name was known across the homelands
\nEach territory knew just who to call
\nWhenever the Crown would attempt to reign
\nYou\u2019d lead charge and say f**k em all!<\/p>\n

There were those that didn\u2019t like you
\nOthers feared what they could see
\nBut they all learned to respect you
\nCause they knew you would succeed<\/p>\n

You didn\u2019t tolerate bullshit
\nNor ego driven fools
\nYou\u2019d pointedly put them in their place
\nPlaying only by your own rules<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t matter what title they wore
\nNor what commandeering rank
\nYou pulled no punches and spoke your mind
\nYour message always clear & frank<\/p>\n

You didn\u2019t take kindly to two faces
\nOr people with no mind of their own
\nWho only repeated what others said
\nAnd cowered when truth be shown<\/p>\n

There were those who thought you arrogant
\nOthers admired your carefree ways
\nBut everyone knew when your truck pulled in
\nThe OPPressors had numbered days<\/p>\n

From Ganienkeh to Kanesetake
\nFrom Gilkison to the Glebe
\nThere was the sewer line in Brantford
\nAnd many others in between<\/p>\n

You helped shut down the thruway
\nThat crossed over Seneca lands
\nFrom Tyendinaga to Akwesasne
\nYou were always willing to lend a hand<\/p>\n

From Eagles Nest to Ipperwash
\nYou brought the truth out from the dark
\nDelivering the map that proved the burial grounds
\nWhile Harris cried \u201cI want the F**kin Indians out of the Park\u201d<\/p>\n

You worked tirelessly at Kanonhstaton
\nKeeping the Peace by whatever means
\nTook A.R.T. and M.E.L.T. & showed the truth
\nSo they quickly dissolved those teams<\/p>\n

You stopped construction of the city lines
\nAt Erie Ave & Birketts Lane
\nNo friendship swayed you stood your ground
\nHoping others would do the same<\/p>\n

There was never any question
\nIt was your duty to give support
\nYou said to hell with Crown jurisdiction
\nAnd scoffed at injunctions from the courts<\/p>\n

You fought hard and always did your best
\nTo uphold the Law and never bend
\nFighting for the land and the people
\nA true warrior till the very end<\/p>\n

A sword and a shield together
\nBound together under Creators Law
\nNo earthly man could break the bond
\nWe stood strong throughout it all<\/p>\n

A year ago He called you home
\nYour spirit\u2019s dancing now it\u2019s free
\nI will always love and miss you Hon
\n& You will always be a HERO to me<\/p>\n

Written in loving memory for the man who captured my heart, and whose love and memory is my keepsake that I will hold in my heart forever~ my husband, my soul mate ~ Richard (Dick) Hill.<\/p>\n

A True Warrior is not measured by the outcome of war, but at having the Courage to have gone in to battle.<\/p>\n
