THE PALEST’INDIANS:  INDIGENOUS VICTORY 

MNN.  DEC. 1, 1012.  On November 22, 2012, 138 countries voted for Palestine to be recognized as a UN state.  They can now use UN International Agencies, sign treaties and bring charges against war criminals. They ended the corporate bankers’ imperial war against Indigenous peoples.  Colonizers Canada, US and Israel voted against the bid. They warned there will be repercussions.  Boycotts, no aid, shunning us, crossing the street when they see us coming and maybe trying to continue to bully us. 

Israel was created by the Balfour Declaration of November 2, 1917.  Lord Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary and former Prime Minister, sent a letter to Baron Rothschild, the leader of the Zionist movement and the Rothschild international banking empire. The British promised to help the Zionists create “a national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine. The US entered the war and two weeks later the first boatload of armed Zionist immigrants landed on the shores of Palestine to destroy the people and steal everything.    

In 1923 Levi General, the Deskaheh, was sent to Geneva Switzerland by the Haudenosaunee [Iroquois Confederacy], to get membership in the League of Nations.  He reminded the Europeans of their obligations under the Guswentha, Two Row Wampum, the only agreement allowing foreigners to live here in peace.  The newcomers violated it, making their occupation illegal.  

Iran, Estonia, the Netherlands, Panama, Ireland and others supported us.  British and American threats against them and Deskaheh forced him to return home.  The League then made indigenous peoples worldwide into ‘domestic concerns’.  We had no right to seek redress for human rights abuses and theft from anyone other than our oppressors.  They tried to permanently victimize and annihilate us. 

Deskaheh’s efforts angered Canada.  In 1924 the RCMP forcibly removed the traditional Haudenosaunee government, and created the Indian Advancement Act, apartheid and the concentration camps called “reservations”.  The Canadian government set up ‘band councils’ to rule us.  They designated that “a person is anyone other than an Indian’.  

Deskaheh was warned to never return to Canada or he would be killed.  He was murdered in Tonawanda New York in 1925.  

Bankers are now panicking.  They monetized everything and created money to control the world.  The shareholders of the corporations of Canada and US profit from war, theft of Indigenous land and resources and enslaving us.  These corporations own the Canadian and American masses.  Birth certificates, drivers licenses, social insurance numbers, social security, a bank account, running a business, travel or any benefit needs the ‘mark of the beast’, which is the stamp of the bankers.     

The bankers send their agents into a country, destroy it and steal their natural resources.  Whoever protests gets bombed, starved and economic sanctions, which is war.  This time the heavily armed high tech Israeli army could not defeat poor weaponless Palest’Indians.  They did not wait for someone to free them.  They freed themselves.  

They set the precedent.  Soon the beast will not be in charge. Canada, US and Israel now have to deal directly with us, the owners of the land and resources.  

The UN is another bankers corporation.  It will crumble from within.  The Indigenous will never be subservient to the bankers again.  The imperial corporations will be beggars rather than the brutal lying thugs they’ve always been.  

After the women everywhere stop the conflict in their communities, they will begin to implement the Great Law of Peace.  Then the men will carry out the law.  It’s over for the corporate bankers.  They have to stand down or leave.  We, the real natural people, are going to assert ourselves. 

We insist on justice first, to join the International Court, file complaints against banker/corporatist war criminals and their agents, dismantle illegal settlements and settlers, sue the colonizers, return of our possessions and sovereign control of our air space, land, waters.  

Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his sidekick John Baird rushed to the UN and showed us who they work for, the same banker who owns Israel and them.

MNN: Protho. Aalto Turning Soprano

MNN:  PROTHO.  AALTO MAY BE TURNING SOPRANO SOON.  Kanekota & the Queen [FC T-1396-12]

MNN.  On October 11, 2012, Thahoketoteh of Kanekota filed an appeal motion at the Federal Court to quash Prothonotary Kevin Alto’s illegal decision of October 5.  No reason was given forbidding us to appeal.  He erred in fundamental jurisdictional law.  The Federal Court has to answer us by October 25th 2012. 

On October 1, 2012, supporters filled the court room to witness Thahoketoeh presenting oral argument before Aalto.  He outlined the history of the 1701 agreement between 48 Indigenous nations and our allies throughout Onowaregeh/Great Turtle Island.  All the newcomers’ rights to live here and provide food for their families come from the Two Row Wampum/Guswentha.  He held up the wampum belt.  “They agreed to abide by its principles and always be of one mind with us on everything concerning the land”.  Like us, the land is Indigenous. 

The Federal Court admits that the Royal Proclamation 1784 supercedes all admiralty statutes.  All laws in Canada are admiralty statutes.  They are “corporate by-laws” passed by the officers of the CORPORATION OF CANADA.  The Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Leader of the Opposition are officers of this corporation.  Their job is to provide ever-growing profits to the shareholders and continue the illusion of freedom to their masses. 

The Royal Proclamation confirms this relationship between the Ongwehonwe and the newcomers.  Should they break the 1701 agreement with us, everything reverts back to one day before the Guswentha was presented, June 24 1701.  The British were presented with the Guswentha in July 25, 1701.  They accepted, recorded and confirmed the agreement [Nanfan], by moving to Ontario.  These are the only legal international agreements we have with the Crown on behalf of the CORPORATION OF CANADA and their subjects.  It’s their passport to live here.  

Aalto went against what is carved on the statue in the Federal Court’s lobby at 180 Queen Street West, Toronto.  [If it hasn’t been removed].  It states, “This court will never go against a Royal Proclamation or an Indian treaty”.  

All Crown agents are bound by their oath to their Queen.  Aalto’s decision was in effect a signed confession.  Now we are asking the Federal Court to convict its own criminality.    

Thahoketoteh asks, “Show us how you got our land legally.  Show us a receipt”.  The Royal Proclamations of 1763 and 1784, are affirmed in their own constitution.  They pledged to “Protect” us from their encroachment on our land forever.  He wants confirmation that without a treaty ceding our land, the constitution protects our territorial sovereignty from the newcomers and overrules federal and provincial jurisdiction. 

Thahoketoteh continues his job as an Onkwehonwe from  Kanionkehaka, to uphold the constitution of the Iroquois, Kaianerekowa”, the law of the land.  We all have a duty to represent the interests of all Mohawks, including those faces beneath the ground not yet born.

·MNN. Nov. 7, 2009. Colonial tyrants try to undermine any nation and peoples who assert inherent sovereignty. They won’t deal peacefully and lawfully with us. How do we protect ourselves? We are unarmed. We must assert our equality and voice.

Kaianereh’ko:wa/Great Law provides a formula for peace. It helps us use our mind. We balance out the easy and difficult, and sort out the real from the make-believe. Stretching our consciousness physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually takes vigilance. [Mann, Barbara Alice. Iroquoian Women, the Gantowisas. Peter Lang. NY. 2000]. Questioning and asking for proof is the basis of our thinking.

We look for extended meanings. This is difficult in a corrupt bureaucracy of privilege, empty rhetoric, tyranny and military might.

We assert rightness with the advice and wisdom of the people as a whole, including the continuity of genetic information, history, traditions and values of our people. We are all advocates of peace and morality.

Victims and their families bring the case to the people. It is investigated. The accused are heard before the Council fires of the men and women of their clan, the Council of their nation, as well as the Council of the Confederacy. If a clan can’t deal with it, they may pass it to another.

The Six Nations Confederacy serves as a forum of appeal from individual and community issues that cannot be resolved by the community.

Decisions have to be justified, rational and follow the criteria and process of the Kaianereh’ko:wa.

The accused have to answer to the people, their victims and their own families. The perpetrators are not jailed. They could be banished. The families of the accused compensate the injured. The defendant loses their voice only after a final decision.

The four principles of Indigenous conduct are: first is natural law; second is truth as the highest point of being and justice when truth is applied to all matters; third is applying respect to all matters; and fourth is liberty and peace based on the first three principles.

Those who divert from the Kaianerehkowa have consciously converted to a foreign dogma, like the Camel Toe Treaty cult at Akwesasne or the band/tribal council system. Their political allegiance is to a foreign entity. [Wampum 58]. They should be turned over to the colonial system. When Rotinol’shonni:onwe stray, it is only a matter of time before they are consumed by their colonial predators.

The Kaianereh’ko:wa is scientific, based on our understanding of the natural world. Fascist rules are unnatural! They are created by a few to enslave the rest and steal or control all the resources. When people adhere to man-made doctrines based on greed and illusions, they are submitting to dishonesty, slavery or death.

We must weigh all the objective realties and collectively become of one mind. [Splitting-the-Sky. Nov. 7, 2009].

We have to use the criteria of peace, righteousness and power, to get the full picture. To stay out of the colonial wilderness, we must listen to those we know and trust.

We should be suspicious of strangers or dogmas asserted without proof that suddenly appear and offer false hope. They pose as Mohawks but usually answer to some foreign intel agency. These serpents are among us to divert, confuse and gather information.

MOHAWKS TO ATTEND INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN VENEZUELA

MNN. Aug. 5, 2007. The Indigenous people and President Hugo Chavez are bringing together 40 Indigenous nations of Venezuela from August 7 to 9, 2007.

The Mohawk delegation is made up of two women, Kahentinetha, an elder and Karenhahes, Bear Clan Mother.

This congress is setting up a broad international movement of indigenous people to reject colonial oppression. During the 20th century, the European states that generated the colonial movement began to understand that they would destroy each other if they kept up the land and resources grab and the ensuing killing of Indigenous peoples. Colonialism was declared illegal. Canada continued to define a “person” as any individual other than an Indian until 1951. Canada still does not respect our sovereignty and presumes that their colonial law is the only law north of the 49th parallel. The U.S. usurps the Indigenous lands, resources and jurisdiction south of the 49th parallel.

Canada refuses to sign the Declaration of Indigenous rights at the United Nations, even though that declaration is a profoundly colonial instrument. International law recognizes that no state can absorb another without the free and fully informed consent of the people concerned in a free vote. The Indigenous peoples and nations never agreed to become part of Canada. Canada is addicted to old destructive models of social and economic relations and medieval ruling class credos. It thinks that social order is based on command and obedience, not agreement between equals, and that there can’t be wealth without poverty. Such nonsense.

The meeting in Venezuela will take place in Mapiricure, an indigenous community in the south. On August 9th President Hugo Chavez will be presented with the Indigenous Feather known as the “Penacho” and a headdress. This will be followed by a ceremony invoking the powers of the natural world. On that day 11 land titles will be turned over to the Indigenous Communal Councils by President Chavez.

The shamen carrying out the ceremony will be joined by shamen from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Nicaraugua, Mexico, Panama and the U.S.

Here is a draft of the words that the Mohawk delegation will be delivering to the International Congress of Indigenous People “in Defence of the Planet”, outlining a new paradigm for human existence.

“Nia:wen for your invitation to witness this historic event. From our women, we bring greetings to the women of your country.

From the “Rotiyaner” who are the men of our nation, we bring greetings from our men to your men.

From our elders, those who are the grandmothers and grandfathers, we bring our greetings to you who are the grandmothers and grandfathers of this nation.

From the fathers and mothers of our nation we bring greetings to you who are the mothers and fathers to your nation.

From our young people we bring greetings to your young people of this nation.

From the children of our nation we bring greetings to the children of your nation.

From those who still crawl upon the earth and those who are still on the cradle board, we bring greetings to your children who crawl on the earth and those who are on the cradle board.

From those faces of our future who are still beneath the earth, we bring the greetings to those of your people whose faces are yet beneath the earth.

Now that we have said this, we may begin.

We would like to have had a larger delegation here to day. Due to our struggle to preserve our sovereignty we are oppressed and ignored on our own homeland we call Onowarekeh, also known also as “Turtle Island”. The foreign colonial governments of Canada and the United States limit our movements on our own land. They fail to teach their people about our existence, our philosophy, our laws.

Mr. Chavez, thank you for giving our people an opportunity to establish relations between our governments under our philosophy known as the “Kaianereh’ko:wa”, the Great Law of Peace. We are not under the colonial laws. We continue to adhere to our laws and traditions. We continue to ensure a future for our people as the Kanion’ke:haka/Mohawk.

We are the eyes and ears that will witness this event. This is the beginning of a message to other nations to work towards bringing people back together to form an alliance. We wish to develop a sane and healthy way of life that assures that all people are decently cared for.

We need to renew the solemn blood covenants that have bound all Indigenous Peoples of South America and Onowarekeh, our name for Turtle Island, for thousands of years. We are one blood. When one family member is oppressed the other must aid their covenant partners. Everyone is there to uplift each other. No one goes without.

Our perception is that the material world is to be shared and distributed equally. Our ancestors knew that when a hunter went into the woods and brought back a deer, the entire community shared in that bounty. This is common to all Indigenous peoples of the world. Those who have fallen away from these simple concepts and now practice colonialism must be brought back into the human family and saved from themselves.

We present you with a copy of the Great Law, our constitution, in both Mohawk and English, our Confederacy flag, the Unity flag and several books about us that will be of interest to you.

We, the Onkwehonweh [the original people], are the guardians of Onowarekeh. Recently South America was visited by the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Canada. They both avoided Venezuela because they can’t understand what’s happening here and it frightens them. These are emotionally disturbed people. They don’t know how to exist on a level of equality with their fellow human beings.

They do not represent us or even the people of their countries. They follow habits of thought that have been proven to be ineffective and destructive to the continuation of human life on earth. They represent foreigners who have usurped our resources and deny us any rights to our ancestral heritage.

Our words as the true representatives are binding on Turtle Island. We have always been here. We belong to the land on which we were formed. Mr. Chavez is here with the true owners of the lands of Onowarekeh and South America. What we say between us is binding.

Under natural law and international law everyone has a right to our own government, nationality and land.

As elders of our nation, we are dedicated to work in the best interests of our people. Each of us has power in our lives. We have a duty to spread the Kaianerehkowa throughout the world. The white roots from the Tree of Peace go in the four directions. Those who wish to find shelter may trace its roots to the source. My nation and Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy are in need of this alliance at this time.

Mr. Chavez holds the same political positions as the Mohawk Nation. We are here to help fan the flames so that the fire grows larger to make a place for all humans to share its warmth and benefits.

No one needs anyone’s permission to promote alliances, unification of our peoples and to spread the peace as prescribed in the Kaianereh’ko:wa. We refuse to live under a dictatorship.

An opportunity came to us to come here. We seized it. Last September some of our people went to New York City, which is on Iroquois land, to hear Mr. Chavez speak. He was inspiring. They told us that they agreed with every word he said.

Our message of peace came to us from our ancestors, Dekanawida and Jigosaseh. They told our people to bring everyone into a covenant of peace, to link arms with all the other peoples of the world. We are continuing the work of our ancestors to bring the message of peace to you today.

South America has the same colonial past as Onowarekeh, Turtle Island. We have occupied our territories since time immemorial. This land is who we are. It is our identity. Mr. Chavez is one of us. His roots go deep into the soil, the jungles, the mountains and fields of Venezuela. From the earth he gets sustenance, vitality and ability to help his people. The people feel safe. His first instinct is to protect the Indigenous people and the visitors who are here.

Venezuela is a beautiful wealthy part of the world. Your resources are now being skillfully used to enhance the best interests of the land and the people who live upon it. You are tapping into the wellspring of ancestral memories that are hidden in the minds of every person living here.

Now all other Indigenous people are seeing that it is possible to take our lives under our own control, not be dominated by foreign forces and to do good.

We feel secure with the Venezuelans. You are competent and sure of who you are. Initially the multinational corporations felt intimidated by the turn of events. They are finding they can work with the original people in the best interests of all. Everyone is benefiting. The only way to achieve harmony and prosperity among us is to bring all our talents and innate abilities together.

Mr. Chavez has found a way to bring this out in all of his people. He represents the forces of a people who are on the move. He has offered a new paradigm. He is showing Indigenous peoples and others that we can take over our own lives and run our own affairs. We can do it so that no one feels intimidated or threatened. It is becoming the natural way to do things.

Dekanawaida and Jigosaseh, the man and woman who helped develop the Great Law of Peace, understood this. They realized that the strength of the Confederation was based on no nation dominating the others. Each, no matter how large or small, had a right to exist and remain who they are.

There was no stifling of the innate abilities of the Onondagas, Senecas, Oneidas, Cayugas, Mohawks or Tuscaroras. Larger nations did not overpower the smaller ones. We were equal. Diverse peoples were brought together to work in harmony for the benefit of everyone. No one could assert themselves over others.

This is the reason why the indigenous government in Venezuela is successful. Mr. Chavez has tapped into the same knowledge that exists in all Indigenous people. The renaissance in Venezuela is going to spread all over the world.

People always feel threatened by a new paradigm. We can expect many attacks from the colonial powers. We do not use guns but they point theirs at us. They don’t know what else to do. The young, the poor and even the middle class in the colonized countries are all suffering from the same insecurity and dislocation that has been imposed on us. They will join us once they understand.

If everyone doesn’t relearn how to look after the earth and each other, there will be nothing left for anyone to eat; no clean water to drink; and no clean air to breathe. The colonial commercial exploitation of the environment has been taken to such extremes that human life itself is in peril. We can work together to clean up the mess we have created as human beings and make the earth healthy again.

The greedy grasping power hungry people who are trying to gain control over all of humanity have lost touch with reality. Just when they think that they have achieved their goal of absolute control and domination, the pyramid of delusion will collapse beneath their feet. Life itself will be gone.

Nobody wants to suffer the consequences of a collapse of this order. Venezuela has a model that is working. People are free and work together to develop everyone to their full potential in whatever area of life they have chosen.

When somebody wants to go from one place to another through forests, jungles, swamps, deserts or mountains, somebody always goes ahead and cuts the trail. The others follow the steps of those who went ahead. They all get to their destination safely. It takes a courageous visionary to see far ahead the dangers that are prowling around. Hugo Chavez is a trailblazer in the realm of the world’s progressives. He helps whole groups of people move forward together. He is setting in motion an act that others will follow.

We have a chance to see how this model is working to its fullest potential so that the good life and good health is shared by all equally. We feel gratified and honored that we are taking part in the dedication of the land to the original people. We need more people like Hugo Chavez all over the world. We hope for the continued good health of Mr. Chavez, who cares to lead in troubled times. Artificial ways will dissolve themselves because they are not real. Humanity must go back to the natural relationships. We salute you, Venezuela, for showing the world how your humanitarian goals are being achieved and are inspiring others to achieve”.

 “Katenies” challenges US-Canada border jurisdiction

Akwesasne/Kahnawake, Mohawk Territory; March 4, 2007 — A Mohawk woman from the Akwesasne Community remains in hiding, defying an arrest warrant from the Superior Court of Ontario in Cornwall.

“Katenies” (gaw-den-yes – whose Mohawk name means “she changes things around”) refused to appear in court on customs and border violations this past January 18, 2007. Instead, she served her own “Motion to Dismiss,” questioning the jurisdiction of the courts and border officials over sovereign Mohawk peoples and their land.

Katenies is a mother and grandmother – her third grandchild was born just 4 days ago on February 28 – and a researcher with Mohawk Nation News.

She and her family — including her daughter and grandchildren — have been harassed by border officials, in various incidents that date back to 2003. To visit her daughter, Katenies needs to make a simple 5-minute drive, but that drive takes her through two provinces, one state, and two countries (Canada-U.S.-New York State-Quebec-Ontario).

If captured by the police, Katenies faces possible pre-trial detention until her court date in August 2007.

Katenies vows to continue to defy the courts until the jurisdiction question is answered; in her words: “It’s the Crown, the courts and the police that are the frauds, and it’s they who are in violation of the law.”

Katenies remains out of sight, somewhere on Turtle Island.

— Katenies defies the colonial US-Canada Border

Katenies, Bear Clan, is Kanion’ke:haka/Mohawk from Akwesasne. She is a mother and a grandmother – her third grandchild was recently born on February 28, 2007 — who works to carry out the Great Law responsibility to take care of the land for the future generations.

However, an official of the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) recently described her as “lawless”. Katenies has questioned the authority of the Canadian courts, or any colonial courts and border officials, over Onkwehonwe (indigenous peoples) of Turtle Island.

Katenies is currently wanted on an arrest warrant, from the Superior Court of Justice in Cornwall, Ontario, for refusing to appear on phony customs and border violations.

She and her family — including her daughter and grandchildren — have been harassed by border officials, in various incidents that date back to 2003. To visit her daughter, Katenies needs to make a simple 2-minute drive, but that drive takes her through two provinces, one state, and two countries.

As recently as November 2006, Katenies was accused of running the border. She was ordered to court this past January 18, 2007, but didn’t appear. Instead, she earlier served the courts with her own Motion to Dismiss, demanding that the courts and border officials address the jurisdiction question: Does Canada, or the US, have any jurisdiction whatsoever over the Mohawk people?

Katenies’ current struggle occurs in the context of wider issues concerning the “border”, or what Onkwehonwe call “the imaginary line”. For example, there have been repeated attempts to introduce biometric “smart cards” into Mohawk communities.

Simply put, Katenies refuses to submit to colonial authorities, or abide by an imaginary line over her and her land.

She remains out of sight of the authorities, somewhere on Turtle Island, but always under threat of being arrested and detained. If she is captured, she could be in custody until at least August 2007.

Katenies is not alone. A network is being established to support her and her jurisdictional challenge, whatever might happen in the coming weeks and months.

“IMAGINARY LINE” ISSUE FOR ALL ONKWEHONWE OF NORTH AND SOUTH TURTLE ISLAND

At the request of various interests, this has been reposted to register our objection to the Haudenosaunee Task Force on Border Crossing representing us in “talks” with the US and Canadian colonial governments. We also provide more contacts at the end for you to put pressure on those who are making deals with the colonists over our heads.

“IMAGINARY LINE” ISSUE FOR ALL ONKWEHONWE OF NORTH AND SOUTH TURTLE ISLAND

MNN. Jan. 9th 2007. The international situation between Canada, U.S. and Mexico is not very complicated. There are two peoples involved. It is us (the Onkwehonwe) and them (the colonists).

We Onkwehonwe, also known as “Indigenous” people, have an inherent right to traverse Turtle Island. When human beings first appeared, Creation gave us the original instructions to be respectful, to live in harmony with the rest of the natural environment and to always adhere to the original ways.

The Haudenosaunee Task Force on Border Crossing [made up of Curtis Nelson, Oren Lyons, Leo Henry, Paul Williams, Darwin Hill and others] was set up without consultation with us. They appear to be cooperating with the colonists who want to issue “smart cards”, something like a credit card. Everything about us will be on that card. This is another straw to try to break the back of the Onkwehonwe.

Many of us who have been active and concerned for a long time found out for the first time this past weekend this committee was set up. They’ve already met with U.S. Homeland Security and Canada Customs and Immigration to work out compliance with colonial terms. We have not been allowed to question this committee. We resist their attempts to pressure us into accepting the colonial timelines and the proposed card which is a de facto recognition of the “imaginary line”.

Preamble

We Onkwehonwe face the US-Canada-Mexico border almost every day. Our nation-to-nation relationship with the colonists is through the U.S. President and the Her Majesty the Queen of Canada. It is governed by the principles of the Two Row Wampum Agreement. One condition of tolerating the presence of the colonists was that we would continue our pre-contact right to conduct trade and commerce and travel anywhere in the Western Hemisphere.

Jay Treaty (proviso)

The Jay Treaty of 1794 is a third party agreement and can have no binding effect on us. Traveling around on our homeland is a birthright, not a “privilege”. Colonists cannot interfere with our crossing of their imaginary line they call the Canada-U.S. and U.S.-Mexico borders. The Jay Treaty created the imaginary line on the 49th parallel. The Iroquois Confederacy said at the time, “It is for you, not for us”. The Confederacy would not agree to this as we were looking out for all Onkwehonwe, our friends and allies. The line between the colonies of Mexico and the U.S. was created by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848. These lines allowed the colonists to illegally implement privileges and tariffs.

Article III of the Jay Treaty is a violation of international law.

“the right of aboriginal peoples (people indigenous to Canada and/or the US) to trade and travel between the United States and Canada, which was then a territory of Great Britain. This right was restated in section 289 of the 1952 Immigration and Naturalization Act: Nothing in this title shall be construed to affect the right of American Indians born in Canada to pass the borders of the United States, but such right shall extend only to persons who possess at least 50 per centum of blood of the American Indian race.

The Jay Treaty was made between two colonial corporations, Britain and the United States, to provide privileges for the colonial subjects. It did not include our political position. It contradicts itself when it stipulates that it would not be “construed” to affect who is and who is not an Onkwehonwe. In fact, it stipulates that this article applies to those who are “naturalized”. So an immigrant who becomes an American, Canadian or British is subject to the rules and privileges of the “corporation”.

Colonists and their “Indian” representatives speaking to band or tribal councils or incorporated “Indian” entities is not consultation. Once they thought they had pacified us and diminished our population, the colonists put these restrictions in place without informing, consulting or getting our consent. Now new restrictions are being imposed according to their “might makes right” paradigm.

We will tell the colonizers what we want, not what they want us to do. It tells us we can travel with personal belongings, not with “bales”. They wanted to extinguish trade and commerce between all Onkwehonwe. “Bales” referred to the fur trade. It meant anything that is more than one, and could not be resold. They set up a system of extortion to interfere with our ancient rights to sustain ourselves. It was similar to the killing off of all the Buffalo on the Plains.

The colonists have demonstrated their disregard for universal human law. Every human has the right to their existence, their own nationality, their land and their government.

The colonizers are trying to blackmail us into recognizing their borders between Canada, U.S. and Mexico. We have our own territories, our own understandings and respect for each other. We did not need standing armies to protect the borders of our territories because we practiced respect for those who inhabited the particular area. We still do.

Passports and Citizenship

Canada and the U.S. are trying to push us into getting Canadian or US passports to restrict and control our movements. We have a right to maintain a connection to our Onkwehone people throughout the Western Hemisphere. The colonizers are trying to class us as American or Canadian or Mexican “Indians” by illegally and violently forcing us to alienate ourselves from our birthright. They cannot make us something we are not. Today they tell us we need a card. Next they will tell us we need a mark on our forehead.

We are not members of any of these colonial entities. We cannot carry passports of foreign corporations of which we refuse to be members. These colonists are trying to make us commit an illegal act. As independent Indigenous peoples we have a right to deal with such issues based on our own laws. The colonizers are bound by agreements they have entered into such as the UN Charter of 1948 and the International Covenant on Cultural and Political Rights.

The concept of “citizenship” does not exist for us. We are Kanion’ke:haka, not citizens. A “city” is a corporation which one becomes a part of with privileges that can be taken away by the hierarchical governing body. No nation has a right to denationalize another nation.

ID Cards

There is no consistency as to what ID the colonists want. When we produce ID they punch our name into the computer and information comes up on that screen. Now they are pushing for us to have a specific ID which they will decide on and authorize. The advisors of the colonists are conforming and misleading our people. The colonists have already made a decision and are relying on the ignorance of our people to implement it. This violates international law because we were not genuinely consulted. Our laws do not allow us to give away the birthright of our children and future generations.

We have a right to decide how we will be identified. Phil Fontaine of the AFN [Assembly of First Nations] has suggested that we use their government-issued “Indian status cards”. Many Onkwehonwe don’t have such a card. A lot of imposters do.

The colonists want the micro chip in the card to contain our DNA, retina scan and finger prints. They will put this into a data base where a satellite GPS tracking system will know our whereabouts at all times. The European countries have rejected this and still require paper passports because the U.S. recommendations violate human rights.

Today the colonial governments are forcing us to shoulder the burden of threats to their national security by bringing us under their rules. Why should we? We’ve never carried out terrorist threats or acts of violence anywhere in the world.

More and more these border guards are bullying our people, trying to ensnare and control us. Intimidating tactics are being used to entrap our people into doing something that will give them a reason to detain or charge us. Cavity searches are being carried out by the customs goons which violates human rights.

Jurisdiction

The Two Row addresses the jurisdiction issue. We never surrendered our jurisdiction over ourselves or our land. Legality requires proper procedures. If they have cause to stop one of our people they can do so according to the Two Row Wampum Agreement. They can turn them over to us. It is our responsibility to deal with those who are in violation or committing a wrong and to restore the peace between our peoples.

The colonists have no right to order us to have these pass ports or anything by January 2008 or anytime. We will tell them whether we will do something or not. To follow the rule of law, the protocol is for them to meet with us. We must polish the Silver Covenant Chain and dust the Two Row Wampum. The Two Row Agreement governs our nation-to-nation relationships with the colonizers through their heads of state.

Conclusion

We Onkwehone are here to fulfill our duties and responsibilities as the Indigenous sovereigns of Turtle Island. The colonists are trying to kidnap our people from our canoe and force us to row their boat. We are being held hostage against our will in violation of the Two Row Wampum Agreement. We can only leave our canoe by our own free will. Those being forced to live under the illegal Indian Act and federal Indian law system are hostages forced to live under an alien social, economic, political system.

When times get rough the colonizers use these violent tactics to try to control us and make us lose confidence in ourselves and our traditional system. In the past when they could not defeat our people, they destroyed the things we needed to sustain us. They disconnected us from our mother, the earth. She is always there to sustain us. We continue to stand by her to protect her.

We are not afraid to defend our birthright and to protect the next generations. Onkwehonwe throughout the world are presently fighting to protect our children, our people and our land. This entire process to undermine us is a continuation of the genocide that the colonists initiated 500 years ago. Only the names and faces in the corporation have changed.
