Participants regularly get comments on the blockade of the International Bridge at Akwessne. It is one of the most important milestones in which natives made a definite statement to the world and governments that we have special rights and that the Canada-U.S border does not exist for natives people. The Jay Treaty of 1794 was for the intruders only. The treaty between the British and Americans has withstood many legal challenges by governments in the United States and Canada. It affirms our natural rights as the original peoples of turtle island. 

It is an international treaty between foreign nations with a provision [Article III] respecting our natural freedom and right to live freely on our land where creation placed us without any hindrance. 

All natives benefitted from this action by kanionkehaka/Mohawks who stood at the Customs House on that cold day on December 20, 1968. 

The rotinoshonni’onwe Iroquois have a long history of making such statements to the world. Annually in Niagara Falls the natives have marched across the Niagara River since the 1920s to remind them of our free passage and their borders do not apply to us.

Another history making event was when Paul K. Diabo of kahnawake, an ironworker, was ordered by the American government to be deported to Canada as an alien. The Supreme Court of the United States upheld the rights of natives to cross freely between Canada and the United States without hindrance or molestation. 

In 1968 the world saw a small group of Mohawks and other natives make a declaration that we are not going to allow anyone to interfere with our natural rights.  

This commemoration at Concordia University is a significant event. Everyone is welcome.

MNN. JUNE 10, 2018. Kahnawake Survival School students and community members stopped the survey for a 47,000 square foot multi-purpose building in the old grove forest adjacent to their school. It’s on busy risky highway 138 for a reason. Once marijuana is legal in Canada, this plot of land is close to the border of the community and the main highway to New York City. A dream distribution center for drugs. The band council has probably already given out the licence. President Trump plans to block all drugs going into the US.

Ironworkers going to the US will be stopped and investigated every time they cross to go to work. The kids want to survive, not be pushed into drug addiction and death.

Then another guy jumped on him. The band councillor almost threw him out through the smashed window.  The party was a ‘hit’ that set an example on how our young people should get ahead using violence!

Most attendees were prancing around like peacocks, in gangsta’ garb. Black pants and shirts with gold chains around their necks, diamond and gold rings on their fingers and sparkly bracelets on their arms and hanging from their noses and ears.  They were plucked and primmed for the big show.

Canada may have convinced some foolish Indians to sell us out and extinguish our inherent rights, but we as sovereign people are not on the market. You and your AFN are illegitimate and do not hold jurisdiction as negotiators of our rights. In trying to establish any other way than the kaianerekowa, you Indians have forfeited your native name, land and birthright.

The Two Row wampum is an agreement with creation that mandates mutual respect for our inherent sovereignty. Canada is violating this agreement of co-existence and has no power or authority over us and our lands. Those that violate this agreement must leave turtle island. Yours and their voice are meaningless. You cannot set boundaries or punish me for expressing my life.

Our land and all that is upon it is ours by creation. Like the natural world, only the people are sovereign. My clan and family membership of the tekentiokwanhoxta, the 49 original families, are the basis of rotin’shonni sovereignty. I speak the language of my ancestors who gave the instructions by which I relate to all my relations. I am the sovereign. You, Carolyn, and your associates must explain to me how you will live according to the kaianerekowa to my satisfaction.

You can’t stand in the way of justice for a sovereign human being who is exercising a natural right to exist. Our mother, animals, trees, fish, birds and any other living things are not subject to your artificial cruel laws. The world is naturally free. The original people worldwide are naturally free. Those of you who sold yourselves out, my message to you is no matter how much the invaders have paid you or promised you, we will always teach our children who they are and to watch out for people like you.
