WE HOLD THE ROCK [ALCATRAZ], SAID RICHARD OAKES OF AKWESASNE IN 1969
MNN. July 5, 2009. No Canadian or US government officials are talking to us. The guards and workers in the two checkpoints in Akwesasne have abandoned their posts since June 1, 2009. We can come and go off the island to the north. We can go off to the south but can’t come back. Our ancestors invoked some basic principles for us to use in such times.The federally run prison on Alcatraz Island in San Franciso Bay had been abandoned in 1963. In 1964 a small group of Lakota attempted to take the Island to invoke a principle in the 1868 Treaty of Laramie. All surplus abandoned federal land automatically reverts to the Indigenous nations.

On November 20, 1969 Richard Oakes of Akwesasne lead Indigenous People onto Alcatraz Island and held it until 1971. It was to prove a basic point. This event changed the relationship between Indigenous and the US government. Up to then it was negotiation, compromise and legal remedies forced down our throats by the government.

The Alcatraz Proclamation was signed, “In the name of all Indians … we reclaim this island for our Indian Nations”. Other abandoned federal facilities were reclaimed afterwards.

The US government knowing this principle was furious that the Indigenous would have the audacity to invoke it. This act focused the entire world upon this basic law. The US government was put on the spot. It could no longer be hidden in the dusty archives of the Bureau of Indian Affairs basement. In 1971 Richard Oakes was assassinated.

The Mohawks of Akwesasne have always asserted our rights for the world to know. The current Cornwall Island event reveals the nature of the relationship between the Mohawks and the US and Canadian governments. The Canadian government knows we can assert our rights over the abandoned buildings in the community, the highway and bridges that go through our sovereign land.

We can invoke the Great Law of Peace which all Indigenous people adhere to. We are one people by covenant.

The checkpoints have been abandoned because we won’t let their guards carry guns. We have not been violent in any way.

According to the principle, the abandoned US border checkpoint at Akwesasne irrevocably reverts to the Mohawk Nation.

The Canadian Twilight Zone check point in the middle of Kawehnoke on Cornwall Island was abandoned and irrevocably reverts to the Mohawk Nation.

The two bridges and highways onto the island are closed/abandoned by the US and Canada. They irrevocably revert to the Mohawk Nation.

The RCMP and other foreign police who patrol the foot of the bridge in the city of Cornwall are trespassers. This is disputed Mohawk land. They must leave.

None of these structures cannot be torn down because they now irrevocably belong to the Mohawk Nation. You build anything on our land, it’s ours.

The US checkpoint and bridge are patrolled by US Border Security Field Operations and a Mohawk Policeman. US Border Security is trespassing and must leave.

We can traverse the whole community of Akwesasne as one entity without borders. It was illegally divided by the US, Canadian and British governments into five jurisdictions – Ontario, Quebec, New York State, US and Canada. They legislated two separate councils, tribal and band, to divide us with their imaginary boundary line.

The outsiders cannot establish the perimeter of our territory to limit us to small areas of our vast Haudenosaunee territory. It is our right to decide who will cross the two bridges and enter our community and our territories.

The Mohawk elders and people made the initial demand for no guns in the hands of foreigners in our midst. Both US and Canadian band and tribal councils stood together and made demands on behalf of the sovereign Mohawk people.

The Akwesasne people took the initiative. This is an Iroquois Confederacy issue. It affects all Ongwehonwe, our friends and allies at the Canada- US and US-Mexico borders which were never meant for us. The visitors cannot apply their line to us.

Rumors has it that US and Canada might build a new bridge several miles west of Akwesasne. This is part of Haudenosaunee Territory. They have to consult us and get our permission. They think they stole this land outright. Not so! Most people in the world know that Great Turtle Island is ours. They cannot show any evidence that they’ve legally acquired any of our land. International law was violated by the US and Canada when they made laws to claim our land and resources.

Arrangements to speak with us must be made through the Governor General and US President. Mike Mitchell, the tribal and band councils do not speak for us. Under the Great Law, they have don’t speak for the Iroquois Confederacy or Mohawk Nation. Anything they decide is not valid because they represent the foreign US and Canadian jurisdictions. Our people sit under the tent at the crossroads at Kawehnoke and patiently wait for them to come and make valid and legal arrangements with us.

MNN. July 4, 2009. According to Mike Mitchell, the new band councilor, we hope he doesn’t mean that the Indigenous give and the colonists take! He has announced a give-and-take style negotiation with Canada. The armed border guards want to come into Akwesasne in exchange for something. He suggests the Canada Border Services agents CBSA could give by taking some cultural sensitivity training. If they become sensitive to us, our laws and our rights, they will get off the island and never come back. The colony of Canada has no legal business manning their store in the middle of our community.The Canada and US ultimatum is that they are going to keep the two bridges onto Kawehnoke on Cornwall Island closed until we let them come in with guns. As a band councilor, Mitchell has been a longtime anti-Confederacy sovereignty advocate. He seems willing to compromise the Mohawk nation position.Mitchell wants to make it look like he settled our valid complaint and come out looking like the hero. Some of the human rights complaints will be settled, he said. He wants to make the economically dying cities of Cornwall Ontario and Massena New York happy.Any deal Mitchell makes will only apply to those 350 people who voted for him, who obviously support the colonial band council system and their goal to undermine us. They are trying to set a precedent for outsiders to patrol other Indigenous communities.

This is a nation-to-nation issue. Canada and US both know that this is a Rotino’shonni:onwe movement based on our sovereignty, which is supported by international law. A majority have to give our fully informed consent which we will never.

There is talk of putting a temporary Canadian customs on the Cornwall Ontario side at the foot of the Bridge. This hasn’t been brought to the Mohawks. At least the Canadian government recognizes they can’t put guns on the island in the middle of Kawehnoke.

Not mentioned is that this too is Mohawk territory which is under dispute. The Mohawks have given the message that we are not going to be intimidated. This is being acknowledged by the non-native community. They now know that we cannot be pushed around anymore.

We must give credit to Dooley Thompson, the former chief, and his supporters, for standing up for the people forcefully and eloquently. Hopefully Mike Mitchell learns from his predecessor that the non-natives can’t walk over us. We are in the right. We don’t want guns like the others. We have to take a stand and stay with it. The cutting off of traffic to Kawehnoke has allowed us to feel relieved from the years of intimidation. It’s a vacation from the abuse that has been going on for a long time.

The Mohawks message to the world is that tyranny has to be resisted. With the move towards global totalitarianism by the few elite thugs and their military goons, the Mohawks, our brothers, sisters, friends, allies and supporters are showing everybody how to defend themselves without using violence. Only the truth!

UPDATE/VIDEO: AKWESASNE WOMENS FIRE NEEDS HELP TO STOP GUNS

MNN. July 1, 2009. On Monday June 1st 2009 the Canadian Border Service Agency was to take up arms at the border crossing in the middle of Akwesasne of Mohawk Nation Territory. The people protested. At 11:30 pm on May 31st the CBSA guards abandoned their post and left. Since then, we have peacefully camped on the grounds next to the facility. This is the first video on the ongoing events in the camp and the people.

The caravan was greeted by an emotional welcoming ceremony and social. Two Indigenous men hitchhiked from Vancouver. Jayson Fleury said that we are being eliminated by guns. We came to support our brothers and sisters to stop the genocide of our people. His sister ended up as one of Picton’s victims on the farm where dozens of our women were murdered. We will never accept outsiders carrying guns in their midst.

Old videos of gunfire 20 years ago are being used as part of the training of the CBSA that work on the island, completely ignoring the peace that has since prevailed. They probably watch old films where a cowboy shoots one bullet and knocks a whole tribe off their horses. The blue-eyed fat Indians with Brooklyn accents were played by Italians and others. Prejudice is being promoted by showing these kind of old movies to scare the CBSA.

MNN. June 28, 2009. To support the Mohawks of Akwesasne who refuse to allow the border guards to carry guns at the CBSA check point, a Peace Caravan will be arriving on Wednesay, June 30. It will start in Six Nations and head east on the 401 to the Cornwall exit. The Six Nations police will be escorting the caravan over the International Bridge to Kahwenoke, Cornwall Island, to the tent site next to the former Canada Customs at approx. 3pm. There may be over 200 cars plus 4 buses. Hundreds of supporters are expected. Many are arriving on Tues. June 29th. All are welcome to stay for July 1st to hear speakers and take part in socials.For those coming from the US side or making donations, they may go to or cross over from Loran Thompson’s Dock or Mac’s Marina at the old church in St. Regis, off Highway 37 to Cornwall Island.

Health Canada also gave a dire warning for Indigenous communities to stay away from large social gatherings to stop the spread of swine flu. Former Chief Nona Benedict responded: “Does this mean July 1 Fireworks are canceled, as well as all future lacrosse games at the arena and the Akwesasne Pow-wow?”

Canada is reviving the old tactic of disinformation, intimidation and threats. We are in the right. We don’t want guns! This is a time to negotiate from a position of strength, not fear or weakness. We can’t have appeasers make deals behind our backs. If we start giving away piecemeal, eventually we will wind up with nothing.

The Mohawks are obviously not going to break the peace that has pervaded the situation from the beginning to now. The Peacemaker Dekanawida and our ancestors will be proud of the message of peace that we have maintained. If anybody causes trouble, it will be outside agitators, police forces, military, undercover agents and professional trouble makers. We won’t fall for it. We will protect each other.

WHY GERMANS & AUSTRIANS HATE MNN

MNN June 17, 2009. It was a currency fight between the Euro and the Dollar. 911 showed how vulnerable the US was. It looks like it was a pretext event to destroy liberty in the name of security.MNN received a number of hostile messages from some Germans and Austrians after the June 7, 2009 article, “MNN Two New World Order Camps Fighting for World Domination?” It was about the sneaky plans of two competing fascist camps, the European Union and the US. They both want the resources of Great Turtle Island and to enslave the people of the world.

As unemployment soars across Europe and the banking crisis spreads, member nations are squabbling about who should be bailed out. The June 22, 2009 Maclean’s Magazine issue features a misleading cover story, “The Return of Fascism in Europe”, by Jonathan Gatehouse and Mark Steyn. They describe fringe groups that gained votes by targeting the immigrants, whose countries the Europeans have raped. During WW II the rich financed the Brown Shirts to go after Jews who were their main business rivals. On Great Turtle Island the Indigenous are being scapegoated where all the resources are inherently Ongwehonwe.

Historically, Germans were the workers and had the iron and coal to build up the steel industry for the military, rail, automotive and ship building. The Austro-Germans have been exploiting Africa and South America since the mid 1800’s, especially Brazil. Ever since German steel giant, Krupp, lost some of its holdings after WWII, these industrialists have been trying to steal it back.

The Europeans have very little resources and are after the Western Hemisphere, which is all Indigenous. They are working with their French buddies to get the European Union to compete with the North American Union for global control. German Chancellor Angela Merkel cut a deal with Canada’s Magna to save 35,000 German jobs at Opel. Just how “Canadian” is Magna?

Frank Stronach, (nee Franz Strohsack) owner and founder of Magna, is a true colonial corporatist. He fled war torn Austria for Great Turtle Island. He has the usual rags to riches life story. In fact, he’s just another pirate who got rich by stealing our land and resources.

Stronach controls Magna. He started out in tool and die making. He promoted the sale of parts to General Motors. Soon he was the sole supplier of important components. Like other billionaires, Stronach ruthlessly merged and acquired companies. Today Magna makes $16 plus billion annually and employs people in 25 countries worldwide.

Frank lives in Austria. He has received awards and honorary degrees for his business activities from Haifa University in Israel; the B’nai Brith; Order of Canada; the Ernst & Young Award”; the Austrian Gold Medal; and the Canadian Yves Landry Foundation Award.

His daughter, Belinda Stronach, was both a Liberal and Conservative Member of Parliament. She is now at the Privy Council Office where the real decisions are made by the Canadian government.

There are 13 board members of Magna including Frank and Belinda. Others are listed at the end of this article.

According to the Macleans story, things are getting worse in Europe. These fringe parties can be shut down by denying them public funds to which they are entitled. The Europeans are becoming desperate making it possible for a dictator to emerge to carry out a global conquest, like Bismarck, Napoleon, Hitler, Louis IV and so on.

Are the Germans rebuilding their military? The Federal Republic of Germany wants our resources. They are lending $1.2 billion to Baffinland Iron Mines. Resource Capital Funds of Colorado and Australia are the main shareholders. The proposed Mary River Project in the far north will produce 18 million tons of iron ore a year for 25 years for German steel mills. It will consist of open pit mining using conventional technology. In March 2009 they signed a memorandum of understanding with the Inuit. Their role in international mining in gold, copper, uranium and coal is growing by leaps and bounds.

The Macleans cover shows screaming youth gangs in fatigues wearing black berets carrying semi automatics. The headline is in black on a blood red flag. It gives the impressions that everybody’s gone crazy so they have to crack down on them. What will the Europeans and US be fighting over next? Our water!
As the Daily Finance stated, “Whisky is for drinking. Water is for fighting.”

BOOBY TRAPPED ROAD TO FASCISM

MNN. June 14 2009. Fascism is when the oligarchs put together enough force to enslave society in the interests of a few. It starts with fervent nationalism. Scapegoats are picked. Genocide is planned. Properties, authority and resources are seized. Territory is expanded.THE LEADER is charismatic and backed by huge corporations. He’s an ideologue with an uncompromising belief system. He seizes power and directs the state to implement his ideas on how the world should operate. He becomes the supreme commander of the armed forces and the high court until a new election is called, if ever.

A strong central government is created under a hard line paternalistic leader. Appointees must submit to him. Rivals are silenced or eliminated through wild unfounded accusations and smear campaigns. Members of the government vote in favor of these measures in return for protection. Otherwise they could be barred from attending sessions.

The constitution is suspended by declaring emergencies. Checks and balances are removed. No questions can be asked. Power is exercised through emergency decrees blamed on an unworkable parliament or congress. Laws and decrees are passed to protect the dictator from criticism, corruption charges, criminal activities and abuse of power. His term becomes indefinite.

Other parties are banned or dissolved. State and provincial governments are abolished.

MILITARY AND PARA MILITARY power takes over the national police and military. Old army officers and reserves are called into service. Stockwell Day suggested that all agents and government employees wear uniforms.

SCAPEGOATS are created. Some are attacked and almost beaten to death. Public anger and frustration are focused on one target who have been labeled terrorists or insurgents to cause hysteria. The military takes them out of the civil court system, i.e. Guantanamo Bay. Their communities are boycotted. Agents are sent in to vandalize their properties and make them look bad. Strict penalties are set for anyone who conducts alleged phony “economic sabotage” such as protecting the environment, resources and territories.

PROPAGANDA is brainwashing to support the views of the fascists. The occult or forced conversion to one world religion causes confusion, conformist thinking and escapism. Non-followers can’t get jobs or food or services.

Media and access to information is controlled.

Small groups are infiltrated, especially the youth. Obama has created a youth corps to keep an eye on their parents and neighbors. A snitch line has been set up like the 911, Crime Stoppers and hot lines to spy on anyone anonymously.

Party supporters are sent out to distribute information and to recruit. Frequent meetings are held to feed into the frightened state of mind in troubled times.

Public meetings are stormed. Declarations are made. Destruction of opponents is demanded. Suggestions are made to set up or support a new strict government. Organizers cause dissention inside dissident groups.

Agents set up a coup-like atmosphere like marches and demonstrations. They wear out the people and give police and military practice in controlling and scaring the public.

The state makes decisions over peoples’ lives and gathers information from the cradle to the grave. Microchips from central data banks contain information on medical records, licenses, education, social services, travel, etc.

An ECONOMIC depression is created. If the head of Bank of Canada or Bank of America disagree with the emperor, they are replaced.

Local business interests are forced to cooperate with the fascists. Large multinational companies like Wal Mart are brought in to destroy small businesses.

Appeals are made to the working class, petit bourgeois like bank clerks, middle management and those who are ambitious. They see fascism as a way to rise up in the system and become heads in the new regime. Industrialists, monarchists and the monied class fanatically support fascism. Foreign collaborators, rich authoritarians, opportunists, media moguls and business men finance the party.

Labor unions are brought under control or wiped out.

Economic engineering includes debt flotation and military expansion. Financing is based on currency manipulation including credit debts. High unemployment is maintained. Arms production is accelerated. Built are dams, highways, railroads and civic works like prisons, labor camps and holding facilities for indefinite periods.

More cops are hired. Court workers and judicial officers are increased. Legal aid, social assistance, housing and other social services are cut. Child welfare agencies are given more power to seize children. Prison sentences are longer. Control mechanisms include more probation officers, judicial supervision, conditional sentences and supervisory court orders.

Women stay home. The state takes the kids. The Fuhrer becomes their father. The standard of living is kept down. Wages are reduced. People are told to make sacrifices for the mother land.

AGGRESSIVE LAW AND ORDER campaigns are started to keep the fascists in power. Periodic demonstrations like the Nuremberg rallies are set up so the head honcho can give long confusing public speeches.

HABEAS CORPUS is suspended. Freedom of speech and assembly are suppressed.

REVOLUTIONARY DEALS are kept secret. The people have to be kept asleep so they don’t ask questions.

Government must appear to be moderate. Everybody else is being stubborn. While they call for peace, these inhuman tyrants start small local conflicts before going into a large war. If you think this is a conspiracy theory, it’s already happening. Look for yourself!

HARPER’S PENIS ENVY IS THE PROBLEM AT AKWESASNE
MNN. June 2 2009. In the US everyone needs guns. Canadians don’t need guns to protect themselves, yet! It is still different enough. Canadian society went hard against anyone that used guns in a crime. In the US if someone burglarizes, the home owner can shoot and kill them. In Canada guns can only be used in self defense. They always thought they could work things out.Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, has taken on the US attitude where most enforcement agencies need guns to deal with criminals or the public, who will also need guns to protect themselves from the police. There are countless super violent standoffs in the US. This is being invited into Canada by Harper.

Harper wants to appear more masculine so that he is no longer just a sidekick of the US. To be the dominant party, he has to be as big and tough as Obama or Bush. He needs a macho image to compete with them. He needs a gun! Harper wants all enforcement agents to have guns. This idea is already expressed in many recent government legislation.

A truck driver in the US needs a gun to protect himself from being hijacked or killed. They used to get arrested when they crossed the border into Canada for carrying guns. They had to leave them behind. In Canada they still should feel safe. Things haven’t changed. It will always be a safe place even though Harper wants to change it.

What is the problem? It’s penis envy. In the minds of many men a gun is a phallic symbol which is a sign of masculinity and virility. This is untrue. If you get into a fight to defend yourself without guns, it requires a bigger person.

Harper was always fat and seen as the pudgy little studious nerd of the class, something like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Everybody sees him as a wimp who wants to be in charge of all situations. He won’t let anybody around freely express themselves.

Harper, the sports trivia freak, was never good enough to play first string. He went into his closet and looked at all his hockey cards. That made him feel like a winner. His behavior is like a man who is concerned about the size of his penis.

Under capitalism a large penis is part of gender identity, a symbol of high masculinity, dominance and power. He became an economist. To him, money is power. Penis size is being popularized in the popular culture. It looks like Harper aspires to this. That’s why he is likely to have a picture taken of himself with a rifle in his hands to hang in every CBSA Customs building for every visitor to see. He is going put a Beretta in every border agent’s hand to let the world know that Canada has real macho men like him.

When it comes to masculinity, Harper thinks he always has to prove that he’s a man. Killing a deer and hunting for wild animals is a sign of the manhood he never had. He noticed this more when he left Canada, especially when he went to the US and visited so-called gunslinger, George Bush. We heard that Harper was afraid to get into the swimming pool and sauna with him where they would start comparing their jewels. He was scared of coming out second best.

This is an old trick U.S. President Lyndon Johnson used whenever he had guests at his ranch. He would dominate everybody by walking around in the raw, which scared everybody. Dick Cheney does the same but his looks like Haggis, a Scottish national food.

This is part of the macho image the Americans want to project to the world. Carrying guns is the epitome of being a real man. Harper bought into it. Now he wants to bring all Canadians into the sauna with him.

This is an American sickness that Canada cannot take part in.

With all that testosterone, the US is still in a state of collapse. Harper thinks he is going to rise up out of that and become the dominant control freak on Great Turtle Island. Canada thinks it can be a superpower by stealing the identity of the US.

Harper does not need to change Canada. As bad as it is, he should be himself. He does not need hormone injections, a personal trainer or a sun tan bed. Axe Body deodorant will not make them more appealing to women [Watch out! It’s full of toxins that lower the sperm count]. Male enhancement pills might help his personal life.

Buying powerful weapons of mass destruction is not going to make him more masculine. Canada must not become enraptured with war and guns. They proved themselves in both world wars. When the wars ended, they put their guns away and went back to the factories, farms and offices and carried on with a peaceful life. They have been influenced by the peaceful society that Dekanawida and the Rotinoshonnionwe developed. All countries of the world are aspiring to the peace embodied in the Great Law, our philosophy. Harper, go home and stop trying to be an American.

O KANADA, BEHIND THE LINES IN OKA

Apr. 30, 2009. At dawn on July 11, 1990, the SQ [Quebec Provincial Police] opened fire with automatic guns and threw tear gas on Kanion’ke:haka Mohawk men, women and children of Kanehsatake. One policeman was killed by friendly police fire. We had been protesting the nearby town of Oka’s plans to expand a golf course over our burial ground and common ceremonial site called THE PINES. Nearby Mohawks of Kahnawake quickly responded to fellow Mohawks by blocking the Mercier Bridge, which connects the south shore with the island of Montreal over the St. Lawrence River.

The RCMP and then thousands of Canadian Army with heavy armaments were sent in. The world watched in amazement as a small Indigenous nation faced the combined fire power of these three forces for 78 days.

It was a fight for Mohawk identity and territory against the oppressive designs of the colonial occupants of our land. We found ourselves in the middle of a struggle for identity, respect and resistance to oppression by Canada and Quebec.

Fifty-two men, women, children and 10 journalists held out in the Treatment Center that we called Concentration Camp TC. We were surrounded by razor wire manned by heavily armed soldiers, guns and tanks. We were without communication with the outside world, little food was coming in and the weather was getting cold. The army was stepping up its psychological warfare tactics. The colonists wanted to end the Mohawk Crisis that had plagued the summer of 1990. They wanted us to surrender. No way!

On September 26th 1990, the Ahserakowa gave us a coded message in Mohawk over the Kanehsatake Radio Station. He warned us to immediately vacate Concentration Camp TC because “something was coming down that night”.

We broke into clans – bear, wolf and turtle – to make our final plans. Some felt we should stay until Monday when Parliament would start its fall session. The gravest political confrontation in modern Canadian history could then be debated.

At 5:00 pm our clans convened. We had all decided to leave in an hour. As two army helicopters hovered above us, everybody went into a flurry of preparations. Everything was thrown into a huge bonfire. A final purification ritual was performed before the sacred fire that had never stopped burning throughout the crisis. We said our good-byes to each other. We did not know what was going to happen when we would walk head-on into the Army.

Thousands of people and media had rushed to Kanehsatake. The whole finale was being televised live.

We tried to walk out of Concentration Camp TC to freedom. We crossed over the stretchers that had been placed over the razor wire. Immediately soldiers and cops grabbed us and began to kick, punch and beat us with their fists, guns and stabbed one child with a bayonet. In the end we were all captured.

The colonists maintained their false position that the Indigenous defenders were criminals and terrorists who threatened the public security of all. The colonists quickly brought us to trial on criminal charges. We were all acquitted except for Lasagna who was found guilty of breaking into a non-native home in Kanehsatake. We had transcended the colonial boundaries set up by Quebec, Canada and the U.S. under a European nation-state model on our territory.

ELITIST THUGS KEEP TRYING TO KILL OFF INDIGENOUS & PEOPLE OF COLOR

MNN Mar. 27, 2009. We are told the world is overpopulated and that it must be depopulated! We are finding out it is part of the old eugenics plan to create a “super race” and get rid of those who they deem to be “useless eaters”. It’s a code for systematic killing of us and people of color, in violation of international law and norms. The serial killers making these blatant plans to carry out “mass executions” must be stopped. The economic melt down is being used as their incentive to proceed. Outright killing and bio-terrorism strategies are being perfected and practiced on us. It’s a pet project of the elite. It’s common knowledge that Prince Phillip said that after he dies, he wants to come back as a deadly virus to reduce the earth’s population by 90%.Henry Kissinger set up the old ideas that President Obama is following. [Hey, isn’t he a person of color?] Kissinger was National Security Advisor NSA and Secretary of State for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford in the 1970’s.

Like King George VI and early elitist Thomas Malthus, Kissinger says that humans will eat and reproduce until there is standing room only on the planet. He thinks he should rebalance the natural world to his way. In his memoirs, “The Final Days”, control over life and death is a sexual high as “Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac”. We think that the megalomaniacs should not reproduce.

Kissinger helped write the classified memo dated December 10, 1974 for the U.S. National Security Council called “The National Security Study Memorandum 200, Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests (NSSM200)”. President Gerald Ford adopted it as official U.S. policy in November 1975. Getting control of the world’s food was one way to gain control of the people. To get food and medicines, developing countries had to agree to tough birth control programs and to drastically reduce their population. People resisted, of course. Kissinger and his cohorts decided to resort to wars.

The myth of “overpopulation” is promoted, particularly against Indigenous people and people of color. We are standing in the way of their plunder of the Earth’s resources and destruction of life. As Kissinger said, “The fast growing populations are prone to civil unrest”. It’s because we are hungry for life! Young Indigenous people are their highest concern because they could drive away investors!

The UN adopted the “World Population Plan of Action” in 1974 to keep the global population below 8 billion. Recently it was lowered to 1.5 billion so they can enjoy the North American materialistic lifestyle of creature comforts, gross obesity and desensitization. They are unconcerned about natural cycles of life. They set a limit of two children per family. They saw that it would require “vigorous efforts” while pretending it’s voluntary.

Birth control devices did not slow down the birthrate of the 13 targeted countries: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, Philippines, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Colombia. President Luis Lula of Brazil told a gathering attended by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown that the global financial crisis was caused by “the irrational behavior of white people with blue eyes” [news.bbc.co.uk].

Kissinger’s war crimes are well documented in “The Trial of Henry Kissinger” by Christopher Hitchens. Kissinger was involved in genocidal massacres of millions in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh (Pakistan), East Timor (Indonesia), Burma (Myanmar) and Chile.

Fertility is a threat worse than nuclear war. Many personal care products are being made with toxic chemicals and endocrine disrupters which affect reproductive function and fertility. Subversive fertility control technologies have been around for a long time. Among others, “Ax Body Deodorant” for young men contains endocrine disrupters that bring down their sperm count. We may have to go back to natural products which we produce ourselves. Do we need to use these fragrances to mask the natural scent of healthy human bodies?

U.S. President Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor, James L. Jones, recently provoked his cronies and the world in Munich Germany that Kissinger is his boss. He said, “I take my daily orders from Dr. Kissinger, filtered down through General Brent Scowcroft and Sandy Berger”.

Jones is a retired 4-Star Marine Corp General with scads of medals, including the French Legion of Honor and the Canadian Meritorious Service Cross. He was a Vietnam vet and worked in the Department of Defense until 2006. He had been active in many businesses making money out of death and destruction such as Boeing, Cross Match Technologies, a privately held biometric solutions company and Chevron Corporation. On November 28, 2007 Condoleeza Rice appointed him as a special Middle East envoy to “strengthen security for both Israelis and Palestinians”. Well, the flames of violence have been heavily fanned since then.

Indigenous people are in the way everywhere in the world resisting the plunder of our territories, resources and the earth. Because of technology, we are not needed and are targeted for elimination.

The pirates want to keep the loot for themselves and to death with the rest of us. Resisters are being eliminated everywhere. In Iraq and Afghanistan depleted uranium is used to sicken and kill for generations. If bombs and bullets don’t do it, chemicals and diseases will be brought in.

In Onowaregeh, Turtle Island, we Ongwehonwe have been targeted from the beginning of the European invasion. We went through and are still going through death by killings, diseases, forced sterilization, birth control, residential school abuse and murders, theft of our children, deliberate poverty and third world living conditions to lower our birth rate and longevity. It didn’t work. So now state agents are going after our kids by rammings, jailings, assaults, “disappearing” and no economic and social opportunities for us. U.S. and Canada are joining forces to marginalize, demoralize, anger, create despair and give us no hope. Since we are marked for death, our way is to defend ourselves by surviving and until we win!

“Killer Crossroads” in Akwesasne

There have been many high speed chases, violence, injuries and deaths at or near the “killer crossroads” in front of the Cornwall Island border checkpoint at Akwesasne. Women, men, youth and children are being constantly harassed and brutalized here. The Canada-U.S. border is illegally situated in the middle of our community.Canadian Border Services Agents, CSIS, RCMP, Ontario Provincial Police, Akwesasne Mohawk “Indian” Police and other government “spotters” finger our people at the toll booth. We can be targeted for assault, harassment, false charges, delayed for hours for no reason, raped, groped or almost murdered. Recently more and more of our men are being chased and rammed by wild delirious “Indian” cops who are desperate to suck up to their colonial “masters”. The band or tribal cops are ordered by provincial, state and federal cops to attack their own people and relatives.

The colonial agents assume that their targets “may be” carrying cigarettes in their vehicles. We have an inherent right since time immemorial to carry on our traditional trade and commerce. Even their own law, the Indian Act, respects our right to carry “taxes free” cigarettes on an “Indian reserve”. They’re putting a new twist to “smoking kills”.

In the high speed chases the cops try to drive the target off the road by ramming their car, causing a flat tire or damaging the back end so the car loses or breaks its suspension or brakes forcing the car to go out of control. The cops continue even when told it’s dangerous. The victims are driven off the road, killed, or, if they survive, are beaten up. They are then charged and arrested.

Last summer in 2008 non-native cops from St. Constant Quebec chased two young Mohawks onto Kahnawake, a Mohawk community near Montreal. The high speed chase led to a back road through a busy residential area. A 15-year old Indigenous boy riding on his bike was hit and killed almost instantly.

After a high speed chase on November 14, 2008, the OPP charged two Akwesasne Mohawk Police officers, Mike Biron and Kenneth Chaussi, with criminal negligence and dangerous driving causing death in a fatal crash on Cornwall Island at the “crossroads”. The cops chased and rammed Gionet’s minivan at high speed. Gionet tried to get away from these maniacs and smashed into the elderly couple at the crossroad. The collision explosion instantly killed a 77-year-old Massena couple, Edward and Eileen Kassian, and Dany Gionet, 21, of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. A judicial pre-trial conference is set for May 4 and a court date for May 28th.

In another incident, on March 19, 2009, Iohahiio, a young man from Kahnawake, was sentenced to 90 days to be served on weekends. He supposedly led “police on a high-speed chase” in February 2007 on Cornwall Island in Akwesasne. He was also charged with obstructing a police officer and dangerous driving. Both were withdrawn because they did not happen.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police tried to pull him over after they saw him leaving a home on Cornwall Island that they allege had connections to someone in the tobacco business. They chased him across the Seaway International Bridge into Cornwall, around the traffic circle, and back over the bridge to Akwesasne. A camera on the cruiser shows that Iohahiio never drove dangerously. The cops rammed him at least three times, twice at the crossroads, causing extensive damage. Throughout, Iohahiio was speaking with his mother on his cell phone. To save his life she instructed him not to pull over until he was in a well-lit area. Iohahiio stopped on the road to the local arena. The cops pulled up and aimed their guns at him, broke his rear window and pulled him out.

Cops beating our people is common. In 1990 his father had a minor charge. When the NYS Police drove him from Akwesasne to Syracuse, they stopped eight times, took him into police stations along the way and severely beat him up.

Violence against Indigenous youth is escalating. Recently young Indigenous girls were sitting outside a Tim Horton’s Coffee Shop in Cornwall. Two Cornwall police officers pulled over. The cop asked one of the girls, “What’s in your bag?” She answered, “Why?” He insisted, “Show me what’s inside”. She refused. He got out, grabbed her bag, struggled with her and injured her thumb.

It is time to remove this “death trap” checkpoint. The cops appear to want to see more Indigenous blood, especially of our youth. U.S and Canada are trying to force us to carry their illegally issued border crossing identity cards on June 1, 2009. They know we have a right to resist this imposition. According to international law we must be consulted and agree of our own free will to become Canadians or Americans. So they are using their “tighten the screws” tactics. These “foreign” border guards are creating conflicts so they can illegally carry guns in the middle of our community. They need the peoples’ permission to do this. It would be dangerous to put guns into the hands of guards who hate Indigenous people!
